The power

Hmmm. Almost cracked the Top Ten. Over the last couple of weeks the Northern Territory News has been counting down the 120 most powerful people in the Territory.

I came in at number 11.

Must try harder.

Sightings

There have been several confirmed sightings over the last week of Darwin-based ALP Federal Member for Solomon Damian Hale. I even saw him myself once, and hadn't even been drinking. There's a perception that Hale is a bit of an invisible man and is, consequently, not working hard enough for the people of Solomon. Interesting to note that a day or two after this cartoon appeared, Hale, who was elected during last year's Ruddslide, claimed to have worked twice as hard as previous member Dave Tollner and had already made 63 speeches to parliament, and asked 23 questions.

Big spenders

Despite all the economic gloom and doom, Territorians are still spending big in the leadup to Christmas. Cartoon copyright © Northern Territory News. Please don't pinch it.

Another recent one. The Territory is heading for a horror road toll this year. The government is trying to do something about it. Cartoon copyright © Northern Territory News. Please don't pinch it.

Out to launch

A recent one on Darwin being pegged as a terrific place to launch space rockets from. This has something to do with our proximity to the equator. It's a suggestion that crops up at least once a decade that nobody ever takes seriously. Cartoon copyright © Northern Territory News. Please don't pinch it.

Normal service will resume shortly

I've been back from holiday a week or so but am currently - KOFF HACK KOFF! - struggling through my usual start-of-the-wet-season bout of flu - BLEEERRRKKKKCHooooooo! - which accosted me as soon as I stepped off the plane at Darwin airport. Typical.
Back soon. Koff.
